Sweet Alien

Alien 4.1 — DDL: [Mediafire] | Online: [Reader]

Truth be told, I had this one half done for a while. I’ve just been focusing my lettering on another project (coming soon). But since the script on that one was driving me nuts, I took a break to throw some letters on this one and push the release. Part 2 is in a similar position, so that will follow sooner rather than later.

Anyway, this is probably the wackiest part in the entire series. It’s actually the one that convinced me to buy this book in the first place. Definitely a worthwhile decision if I do say so myself. This part also marks the first part of the second half of the book. Only eight parts left after this!

All right, I think we’ve established that I’m a liar now. That being said, the next part will be out in a few hours (give or take a month or two).

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to figure out which series I’m going to use when I post episode 4. Although it wasn’t intentional, I ended up doing one series per episode. Looks like I’ll be sticking with that.

OK, I didn’t exactly lie. Yes, it’s true that the lettering for this part was a formidable opponent, but, well…I kinda left out the part where I had already finished it at the time of that post. Heh, how silly of me. Well, that particular gag is only funny once, so don’t hold the same expectations for the next part.

No, these are not the aforementioned sexy siblings. They are Katz and Leon from a different series (which will be my next project when I finish Alien).

Anyway, this part took me forever due to motivation issues and a stupid amount of display lettering. The next part isn’t anywhere near as bad, but still pretty far out there. There’s no telling how long that one will take me, but I will do my best to plow through it at top speed! It should be out within the next month or so.

I used to have a car like that. It was pretty cool until I forgot where I parked…

The original plan was to have this done by Wednesday. Technically, I met that. But I held it back so Sirus could look over it for me. Good thing too. He was able to help me fix some of the dialogue that was driving me crazy.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, these images I’ve been posting are from Mr. Miyata’s newest series, Why not be my dog?

Sorry for the delay there. I wanted this out a long time ago, but oh well. It’s done now, and that’s all that counts. 1.3 will be done and out in the next day or so as well. One thing to note: I gave up on redrawing the entire title block like I did in 1.1. Yeah, to hell with that. Way too much detail was covered up. I fell back to just redoing part of it, which I’ll continue for the rest of the book.

Oh yeah, and I included an updated version of 1.1 here too. I wouldn’t exactly call it a “v2,” but it’s out there for anyone who wants it. The original download link, as well as the reader, have been updated. It’s mostly just lettering tuning and readjusted cover colors. I sincerely doubt the vast majority will notice anything at all.

So this is a project our letterer Scorpian has been wanting to do for a long time, and it has finally seen the light of day. It’s a rather lighthearted piece about a guy who’s wife is an alien, and their daily adventures. Alas, Watamote still hasn’t been completed, mostly because the only people capable of cleaning it are either MIA, or busy with real life issues marginally more important than scanlating manga. Once again, hopefully that will be remedied soon.
