Volume 2’s been out for a little over a week now, but raws only surfaced recently, so we went ahead and translated the Omake just like last time. There’s a short of a author thing at the end of this one that sheds a little more light on the Twitter ‘incident’ and who they are as a duo.

The volume itself has already sold over 60,000 units in it’s first week, placing it in the Top 10! I for one, as the person that typesets thing manga, find it to be spectacular. Seems we, as a collective whole, managed to change Japanese perception once again. It’s pretty neat.

Edit: Key error on the last page; I neglected a “not”. Should be fixed now. (Too late for aggregate sites.)

P.S. HP batches aren’t there yet, since I got sick again. Should pass soon though.
Should also change the tag from “Loser Girl” to “Watamote” but it’d probably mess up RSS feeds.

And with this, we end the long road that is Houkago Play. It really has been a long road since we picked it up after kyonkundenwa last October. (Last October…?!) In that time the chapter’s passed from purely my hands, to K and Sector89. Was pretty cool to directly see how it was approached by another perspective. The ending itself is more or less a mystery, but maybe it was a good end? The world may never know.

The “Chapter 00” is the chapter at the very front of volume 2, that shows all the main characters from the volumes. Apparently it was never translated, so a fan requested us to do it, and so we did. What does this mean for Houkago Play now? I don’t know really. The story is technically not over, since I own a copy of Houkago Play R. Maybe we’ll do it, maybe not. We’ve got a lot on our plate still, behind the scenes.

Either way, it’s been fun. I hope you all enjoyed reading along, as much as we did working on it.

And here we are again. The Life and Misadventures of Tomoko Kuroki. The chapter is rather on the long side coming in at 14 pages. Some anon was telling me I was basically trash for redrawing pages, which sure, you can say that because it’s somewhat true. But like I told them, unless you want to read pages like this, there’s no real point in say such things. (Also, there’s actually a second part to that credits image.)

Tanigawa-sensei will be taking another break again for the release of the second volume on the 22nd, so the next chapter is next month. But, remember to get out and pre-order/buy your copies to help support her. We managed to do a lot of cool things–and a few not so cool things–so let’s try to make a mangaka’s dream come true again!

Houkago Play is already slowly being wrapped up as of this post. Hope to get it out somewhat soon.
Cosmos and Sorairo Square are still kind of tied up, but I’m working to untangle that ASAP as well.

Wait, didn’t you just say that you got a cease and de- Yes, yes we did get a C&D. So I took them off our servers, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t release this manga. Everything about scanlation can be considered illegal, sure, but since we end up doing everything from scratch, sans drawing the pages, it’s considered a fan work. It just happens to sit on top of a manga page. None of it is still hosted here though.

So yeah, Taeko and Masuda engage in a battle of wits. (Or should I say “wits”.) Taeko seems she’s managed to get a handle for Masuda… or is it the other way around?! Many things said, many things unsaid, what ever shall happen for the girl that can’t cry?

So I decided somewhere down the line that I should act more like a co-founder and actually do something other than translate. Though I’m not sure what part of being a co-founder making the release post is, I felt like doing it this time. Chances are I’ll be making a few these regularly from now on.

Not too much goes on in this chapter, but expect some interesting developments from next chapter onwards.

This was sitting done for quite a while, and for various reasons, it didn’t end up getting released until today. Also, expect the final chapters of Houkago Play, including the bonus chapter, sometime soon. Along with Akatsuki no Memoria, assuming メイル gets over post-PSO2 withdrawal symptoms and gives me something to work with. <- Shhh…

Tomoko’s summer draws to a close, and she’s not very content with just letting it go by, like every other time before. Will her plan to end her summer be successful, or will she end up falling into another set of unfortunate circumstances? One can only hope for the best!

Started the chapter approx. 4 hours late due to me being completely enamored by PSO2’s fan event today (I NEED my fix, Sega), and にんげん being rather busy. The chapter is on the short side, but the redraws were uhh… not. Spent almost 5 hours working on those, oho. Hence why it’s out at this time today. There’s a line or two I’m pretty iffy on, but I don’t have anyone to check with right now, so I might change them later.

Also, having come back to reality, I’ve been reading all your requests/complaints/whatever. Yes, I know, I need to hurry up on a number of things. Namely Akatsuki no Memoria and Cosmos.  I just need, uh, better time management skills and stuff.

This one goes out to you ShadeCiira. You yelled at me to go faster, so I went faster…! Even though I totally didn’t want to do it, because I’m still playing PSO2.

It was announced via email a short while ago that Jmanga was going to pick up Don’t Cry, Girl. I was going to write a post about this at the time it happened, but it was like 3 AM so I ended up not doing it.

What you may, or may not know, is that Jmanga is basically a legal way to read manga online, by purchasing points to “buy” them on the service. (Yay digital copies.) Either way, it means it’s being licensed in North America, in some capacity. Chances are it will be released in bulk, or by chapter as they typically do.

Anyway, having talked to にんげん about it, as well as various other people, we decided we’re just going to say “Screw it.” and keep doing it anyway. Mostly because it’s highly improbable that many will actually read it off Jmanga anyways. To bring manga to those that are unable to read it, is why scanlators exist after all.

We have a long chapter once again after a while without, and this time Tomoko goes on a adventure to visit a professional voice actor, but of course things are never going to go as planned. She even does some really, really obscene things!

I feel like I should put something meaningful here, like I always do, but にんげん is long asleep, and I’m up here at 3:524:17 AM PST with no one else to blame but myself. 仕方がない。

[23:17] Ghost`Yomi: Fuck me.
[23:18] Ningendomo: ?
[23:21] Ghost`Yomi: I literally just fucking closed it without saving.
[23:21] Ningendomo: Dang
[23:21] Ningendomo: That sucks
[23:24] Ghost`Yomi: I need to go walk around outside…
[23:24] Ghost`Yomi: God damn it.

And thus is the story. The thing I closed happened to be the redraw for this page. Which I had to do. All of it. Twice. I was so close to finishing the first time… Oh well. At least it’s all done now, with some help from a Anon right before my demise. (You really did help me out, you know!) Redrawing is a tough job.

There obviously may be errors considering the circumstances, plus I kind of feel I might v2 if I end up coming back to it. Some words/lines were changed, and some cleans rather rushed. I hope to avoid this kind of situation in the future, seriously. Sure, I could hold off and just release it when it’s ready, but then what’s the point of speed scanlating?

Not so much a cliffhanger this time. Fumika tries to rekindle her old friendship with the amnesia-stricken Miyuki. Has she really lost all her memories?

This is the first time we’ve ever released this many things in a day, let alone a week. It’s bar none amazing.
Also I would like to note that we have changed the name “Ayane” to “Fumika”, in order to stay in line with preexisting information. (It can be read differently, hence the confusion.) Sorry about that.
